Stephen H. DiNolfo is the manager of the firm's litigation practice. As a former Cook County Assistant State's Attorney, Mr. DiNolfo has handled hundreds of jury and bench trials. His civil practice includes representation of clients in subrogation and uninsured motorist cases, as well as employment cases brought under Title VII, Section 1983 and the Americans with Disabilities Act. He has handled contract disputes and common carrier cases, as well. He has litigated cases in state and federal courts, has argued before the Illinois Appellate Courts and has represented clients before the Illinois Department of Human Rights and the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
Mr. DiNolfo has defended, taught and counseled paramedics, firefighters and 9-1-1 providers for many years. Mr. DiNolfo has defended numerous claims against paramedics and firefighters in professional liability lawsuits in state and federal courts. He has defended clients in malpractice actions against claims of wrongful death, improper intubation, failure to defibrillate or violation of federal civil rights stemming from alleged professional misconduct. In addition, he has represented individual paramedics before administrative review boards. He has also defended 9-1-1 centers against claims of improper or inadequate emergency dispatching.
Mr. DiNolfo devotes a significant part of his practice to counseling and advising fire protection districts on a variety of issues. For many years, Mr. DiNolfo has taught classes in medical-legal liability, documentation and related issues for paramedic training classes, numerous fire protection districts and fire departments, and the Northern Alliance of Fire Protection Districts. Mr. DiNolfo is a regular speaker at the annual conferences of the Illinois Association of Fire Protection Districts.
Mr. DiNolfo received his bachelor's degree from LeMoyne College in Syracuse, New York, and his J.D. from the University of Toledo College of Law, where he served as a research editor on the law review. He is licensed in Illinois and New York, and admitted to the Northern, Central and Southern Districts of Illinois, and the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
